Email Security

As an independent Managed Service Provider, it's our job to fit the right security for your business. Email is the primary attack surface — it is therefore the main priority for security protection.

We recommend third-party email security systems from vendors like Abnormal Security, Barracuda, Censornet and Proofpoint, all of whom offer advanced email protection as another layer alongside Microsoft.

As an independent we'll tailor the most affordable and best defence for your business culture, taking best of breed and best fit from our partners.

Our research reports the key worries that concern security personnel in a business

Phishing & Social Engineering — attackers masquerade as a reputable entity for gain. It calls on two of the favoured intentions by threat actors: Impersonation and ATO (Account Take Over).
Spoofing — messages sent from a fake sender address. Protection layers include SPF (Sender Policy Frameworks), DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) and DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) which notifies domain owners when a spoofed email is detected.
Deep Fakes — grown exponentially due to AI. A form of impersonation described by the mainstream press as the 21st-century answer to Photoshop. A synthetic stand-in swapped in for a real person, used for distortion with malicious intent.
Ransomware — malware encrypting data until you pay to release it.
DoS (Denial of Service) — mail bombing with excessive loads.
GenAI misinformation and fake disinformation — coordinated content designed to mislead at scale.

The GenAI Threat

Attackers are using GenAI at a faster pace than the rest of us, as they don't have to worry about regulations or sign-offs. Their phishing emails are more convincing, they can send more content, and AI can analyse data faster — increasing the quality of deep fakes and impersonation attacks.
